*Position : Sr. Application Support Analyst* *Location : **Long Island, NY* *Duration : 6 months* *Interview : Phone then F2F* JD: *GENERAL SUMMARY:* - The Senior Application Support Analyst is responsible for full application support in the Voice, Data, and Application Services department. - This entails maintaining and troubleshooting the front end interface as well as the middle-tier and backend services in a Unix/Linux or Citrix environment. - You will also be facilitating the migration of applications from the development area to Production Support. - Once in the Production Support area you will accept responsibility for installing patches, scripting, monitoring and report generation as requested. - You will also plan for any expansions or upgrades of software platforms with minimal downtime. - The Senior position will also mentor and train any new hires. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Accept "ownership” for all applications running in the Production Support area. - Deploy custom application code on JBoss, Tomcat, and Weblogic environments. - Strong knowledge of sql specifically in an Oracle environment. - Resolve service tickets. - Must be knowledgeable with network protocols and be able to submit firewall and load balancer requests. - Maintain application and performance logs from outages to identify problematic areas. - Develop and integrate new tools to monitor issues before they become outages. - Must be a proactive troubleshooter. - Be willing to work late hours for maintenances and provide off-hour and weekend support. - Continue to develop technical skills through training. *Knowledge and Skills:* - Must have working knowledge in an Oracle, Unix or Linux environment. - Must be familiar with RedHat Jboss and Tomcat versions, Oracle Weblogic or Tibco BusinessWorks software. - Be able to support web based applications used by Field Services, Customer Services, and Sales. - Possess an ability to program in a scripting language (SQL,PL/SQL,PERL,BASH). - Be able to document and track all problems and issues. - Must possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. - Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with other departments. *Experience: * - More than 5+ years previous application troubleshooting/administration experience on multiple application platforms (Weblogic, Tibco, JBoss, Tomcat, iPlanet, Glassfish, Oracle) and multiple operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows, Citrix). - Extensive prior knowledge/experience with application servers and database applications. - Strong SQL skills and database expertise a plus. *Education:* - Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent work experience is required. *Other: * Flexible working hours, 24 hour on-call systems support *Ankush Nirala* | Technical Recruiter | Apetan Consulting LLC Tel: 201- 620- 9700* 112 | Mail: 72 Van Reipen Avenue # 255 Jersey City, NJ 07306 | Corp.Office: 15 Union Avenue, office # 6, Rutherford, New Jersey 07070 | [email protected] | G-talk: [email protected] | www.apetan.com <http://www.facebook.com/Apetanconsulting> <http://www.linkedin.com/company/apetan-consulting-llc?trk=top_nav_home> <http://twitter.com/ApetanLLC> *Disclaimer*: We respect your Online Privacy.
