Idaho Transportation department has a CRM Architect who is responsible for
the vision of MS Dynamics CRM as the modernized DMV system. The problem is
that the architect cannot be onsite full time and they really need someone
who can be. So they’re not seeking a CRM Architect per say, but an
individual who can follow the directions/architecture laid out by the
architect and work directly with the developers who are building the
plug-ins and the configuration staff that are doing the CRM configuration
of the pages/forms to ensure correct implementation of the architecture.
The architect has been working side by side with the configuration staff,
but won’t be onsite except once a month now, so they need someone to work
with the staff and help/guide/mentor them to get the configuration
completed. The person doesn’t have to know how to build a plug-in, just how
to make it integrate and operate in CRM. The person does need to know how
to do the page/form configuration (basic and advanced/complex
implementations).
*Job Description:*
Idaho Transportation Department’s DMV Division (ITD) is modernizing its
systems responsible for drivers licensing, vehicle titling and
registration, motor carrier administration, automobile dealer
administration, and airplane registration, among other business functions.
ITD has adopted an architectural approach that builds its modernized system
on top of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM foundational platform.
ITD has adopted a development and integration strategy that conforms to the
following principles:
1. Deliver DMV functionality through configuration within CRM
whenever possible. It is desired that all user interfaces are presented
within CRM, and all operational data is stored within the CRM database
schema.
2. Maintain compatibility with CRM upgrades that will permit ITD to
migrate to newer release versions of CRM without significant rework or
development.
3. Ensure complete enablement of all ancillary CRM features,
including but not limited to reporting on KPI metrics, workload balancing,
and auditing, as specific ITD services are designed and configured in CRM.
4. Balance of flexibility and complexity. Reuse of workflows when
possible, while considering design limits and best practice
recommendations.
ITD seeks the services of a skilled Software Engineer, experienced with
using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform in an environment of similar size
and transaction volume as ITD, to assist in accelerating the design of the
DMV modernization program. It is expected that the SE shall collaborate
with ITD’s architects and software engineers to implement a detailed design
of the system development approach considering best practices published by
Microsoft, the SE’s real world experiences, and ITD’s functional,
performance and sizing needs.
*Specific Skills Required:*
*1. **At least 6 years of recent experience in software design and
development using C#, Java, ASP.Net, MVC, or combinations thereof.*
*2. **At least 4 years of recent direct experience with the Microsoft
Dynamics CRM system in:*
*a. **A highly customized implementation of the platform*
*b. **Direct integration with other transaction processing systems*
*c. **Migration of data from legacy systems as a pre-load of the CRM
platform.*
*d. **Scale and transaction volume equivalent to ITD’s operations
(80+ remote offices, 700+ users, and 300K+ transactions per day).*
*3. **Direct experience in the use of Dynamics CRM in a DMV
application is highly desirable and will be given preference over other
candidates lacking such experience.*
