Job description below. Basically building a big data system to aggregate
multiple 3rd part data sources to make recommendations to millions of
users. This would then later be followed by reporting to users and an API
to connect to users. *Hadoop, MySQL, and AWS is important.*

*Job Description*

Come help us architect a system from scratch that will potentially enhance
the way our customers interact and enjoy our products/services.

Project Objectives and Responsibilities:

1. Design and build a system that combines geolocation information from
multiple sources

2. Design and build a system that aggregates internal metrics correlated to
geolocation data

3. Extract geolocation information from GeoIP databases and APIs

4. Conduct supporting analyses to verify the quality and completeness of
underlying data

5. Visualize aggregate internal metrics correlated by location through a
dashboard (e.g. Tableau)

6. Build supporting system such as logging and error handling

7. Collaborate with our engineers to ensure adherence with our company
standards and best practices

*Skills and Experience:*

* Database design and architecture experience

* SQL and RDBMS concepts

* MySQL database experience

* SQL query language

* Hadoop/Map Reduce ecosystem (Hadoop, HIVE)

* Hive and Hive Partitioning

* Build ETLs using scripting languages (e.g. bash, python)

* Optimize ETLs and queries based on database types

* Data visualization tools (Preferably Tableau)
