This Senior DB2 DB Developer will be developing a backend database for the
new clinical app.



*Day to Day:*



-They will be working on modeling a physical data model on a DB2 DB.

-They will work on a 3 tier application and work with the middle tier team

-They will be doing physical database modeling and DBA

-Responsible for developing back end - database - new clinical application

-Middle Tier - provisioning an object and initial relational model

-Take the model and optimize it for the db2 database

-Adding necessary storage modeling complement, partitioning, indexing,
auditing, archiving

-Responsible to deliver database code to ensure that it’s working optimally
for transactional clinical system



*2 critical aspects to have:*

-Need to have pretty extensive exp w/physical data modeling

-DBA exp with database



-What is best way to create database code on db2

-How to optimize for high volume process

-Self start and learned to lead team on those decisions



-Provides expertise in data replication out of transactional db2 system
into other systems

-IBM infosphere change data capture product - highly beneficial



-Db2

-IBM change data capture (CDC) product



-Working on oracle system that will be connected to transactional system

-Oracle database coding and optimization and physical modeling



-Knowledge of high volume transactional, modern, three tier systems is key



-IMDG - In memory data grid - experience is extremely beneficial - that is
what the transactional system will be connected to



-Knowledge of scrum and agile process to deliver agile cadence

-Knowledge of healthcare data - very beneficial to model correctly



Sr. DB Developer focuses on designing, coding and optimizing database
structures to operate in concert with application architecture components.

S/he works as a member of a multi-functional Scrum team. The stakeholders
of the Scrum team are: architecture team, product owner, and process
modeling team, front-end application team, middle-tier team, infrastructure
and operations team, data management team.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

   - Creating physical data models
   - Installing and optimizing physical models for DB2 and Oracle RDBMS.
   - Optimizing the performance of the OLTP DB(s) to support a 3-tier
   system architecture, utilizing indexing, partitioning and in-memory data
   grid
   - Designing and implementing data management processes: security,
   lifecycle management and operational readiness.
   - Integrating and optimizing DB with data virtualization solutions, such
   as Denodo cache, for performance at high transaction volumes.
   - Implementing data replication for DB2, Oracle, MSSQL and Netezza using
   IBM Infosphere CDC tool.
   - Designing and implementing data integration and data conversion
   solutions via SQL, Informatica and IBM Infosphere CDC tools.


   - Bachelors in Computer Science or Masters Computer Science or
   equivalent preferred.
   - 10 years of experience and expertise with data modeling and RDBMS
   technologies – WILL LOOK AT SOMEONE WITH 5-7 years of experience
   - Certification in IBM DB2 technology is preferred
   - Certification in IBM CDC technology is preferred
   - Certification in Oracle DB technology is preferred
   - It is advantageous to have an outstanding programming skills

   - Required knowledge and prior experience with data modeling of OLTP and
   ODS systems
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working with IBM Infosphere CDC
   - Required knowledge and prior experience with DB tuning and lifecycle
   management, such as Partitioning and Compression.
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working with healthcare data
   domain and its standards, such as HL7, FHIR, FHIM, etc
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working with data modeling and
   data management tools, such as IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, IBM
   Information Governance suite, Erwin, Sparx EA
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working with Unix scripting
   technologies
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working in Scrum Agile
   methodology
   - Required knowledge and prior experience working in Domain Driven
   Design (DDD) methodology

*Preferred Skills*

   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with the JPA tool
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with the In Memory
   Data Grids (IMDG), such as Extreme Scale
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working on Services Oriented
   Architecture (SOA)
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with IBM Fast Track
   and Infosphere Governance Catalog (IGC)
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with Informatica
   technologies
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with Microsoft
   technologies, such as MS SQL Server DB, T-SQL and bcp, .NET services
   - Preferred knowledge and prior experience working with Hadoop
   technologies
