*Role: Access/VBA Developer* *Duration: 6+ Month* *Location: **NY, NJ Metro area* *Mode of interview: In person Interview required* *Local Candidates Only* *Daily Responsibilities:* Document the Functional Specification based on the business requirements and the team's design decisions. Implement and unit test new code for MS Access and MS Excel. Create unit test plan and scenarios. Create tools to assist with automated testing of the data and the functionality. Create troubleshooting guides. *Role: * Strong VBA MS Access/Excel Developer/Analyst with at least 7 years of experience to assist with the design and implementation of new database capabilities. MS Access/VBA, MS Excel, and SQL are critical skills, as well as the ability to write code that works in both 2007 and 2016 versions of the MS Office platform. This resource must be able to analyze our current systems and provide solutions that leverage the existing code base—including automated solutions for assessing the quality of the data once the system goes live. This resource will also be responsible for creating technical documentation, such as functional specification, test plans, test scenarios, in addition to documenting the code as required. Must be effective in engaging and partnering with PGIM project team to gather business requirements and translate into functional MS Access/Excel applications. To be successful in our fast-paced, dynamic environment, the ideal resource will have demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills, coupled with superior customer focus and collaboration skills. The ability to work beyond normal business hours to meet deadlines may vary and is required. *Required Skills:* Extensive development experience in MS Access/VBA and MS Excel/VBA is critical, specifically with versions 2007 and 2016. Extensive experience with SQL and VBA; experience with Java/C# or other object oriented languages a plus. Strong understanding of relational database structures and design (including, e.g., data relational history, data import/export, and auditing capabilities). Understanding of object oriented design practices. Strong testing and troubleshooting skills. Experience creating technical documents, e.g., use cases, functional specifications, test plans, test scenarios, troubleshooting guides, etc. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong independent thinker with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively as part of a team. *Desired Skills:* Knowledge of HR and Finance systems including PeopleSoft, Taleo, and Oracle preferred. Prior experience developing workforce planning/position tracking databases preferred.
