*Info:*These folks will have some interaction with business users such as
the Director of Analytics so they MUST be strong communicators. It's also
a very collaborative culture, so looking for people that like to work with
others, not a heads down type.
*Skills:*
Tableau (Dashboards, Data Extracts, Analytics), SQL, Hive, Redshift, AWS
UI/UX experience providing dashboard presentations and working with
business partners on the best way to display information (visually
appealing reports and dashboards including graphs/charts)
Tableau server configuration experience
Tableau server administration tools experience
Tableau security (e.g. SSO) experience
Experience migrating or translating reports from legacy systems like
Cognos, direct SQL queries, Excel to Tableau
Demonstrable examples of past Tableau portfolio
Expert SQL query tuning for performance
Experience pulling data from Hadoop through Hive on Tableau
Experience working on Hadoop distributions as mentioned above
Very strong verbal and written communications
*Preferred:*
User Experience (UX), JavaScript/HTML/CSS, D3 Visualizations, BI Background
(Microsoft BI, QlikView, etc.), Amazon S3
*Duties:*
Design and develop reports and dashboards in Tableau using data in Hive
(Hadoop) - e.g. using Hive ODBC and Amazon Redshift
Works with business team and analytics architect on report definition and
enhancements
Create appropriate technical documentation
Set up Tableau security
Optimize and customize Tableau environment
Experience with creation of users, groups, projects, workbooks and the
appropriate permission sets for Tableau server logons and security checks
Run Tableau queries directly in Hive to compare results (QA, unit test)
Work with Amazon RedShift Database
Work with Hive on Hadoop distributions such as Amazon EMR, Hortonworks Data
Platform (HDP), Cloudera Distribution Hadoop (CDH), MapR M5 or M7
Ability to analyze and dissect user requirements and build Tableau
applications according to specifications
Create complex formulas and calculations within Tableau to meet the needs
of complex business logic
Good knowledge on Level of Detail Expressions
*Summary:*
The primary function of this position is for the development of Tableau
reporting applications for various business units using Customer 360 Data
Lake in AWS cloud.
The Tableau Application Developer will be tasked with converting existing
Excel and Cognos reports to Tableau using ODBC Hive connections and Amazon
Redshift.
In addition, to creating new report based on business requirements using
the Customer 360 data lake.
The Tableau Application Developer will be expected to provide Tableau
report and Tableau server expertise, and will be expected to know and
understand best practices for cloud based Tableau report deployments.
In addition, the Tableau Application Developer is expected to know and
implement best in class reporting practices
