Please find the below job description and send me profiles to *[email protected] <[email protected]>* We are looking for GC,USC on W2 *Title:* DATA ARCHITECT AND ETL DEVELOPER - DATA VIRTUALIZATION *Location:* Washington, DC 20433 *Duration:* 6+ Months (Possible Extensions) *Required Skills:* · At least 6-8 years of strong working experience in the design and development of applications using Data Virtualization technologies · Strong working experience in developing conceptual and logical data models for application databases and meta-data repositories · Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the logical and physical database design (for both transactional and data warehouse) and data normalization concepts; *Background* The World Bank established the foundation of the Data Virtualization (DV) work program. The BI roadmap has positioned Data Virtualization as part of a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategy to: * Eliminate (breakdown and remove) dedicated silos of data, systems and infrastructure as they exist today * Reduce the time it takes to build and deploy new information services * Implement and sustain predictable qualities of service around information delivery at runtime * Leverage and extend legacy information resources and infrastructure immediately through data and runtime virtualization A senior data architect is needed in the Business Intelligence (BI) DV project to meet the demands and further develop additional capabilities of the current DV environment. He/she is responsible for guiding the design and contribute to the implementation of the projects defined within the DV work program. *Requirements:* * At least 6-8 years of strong working experience in the design and development of applications using Data Virtualization technologies. Experience in Cisco Information Server (CIS, formerly known as Composite) is a plus. * Strong working experience in developing conceptual and logical data models for application databases and meta-data repositories. * Canonical data & service modeling concepts. * Knowledge of SOA, with special focus on service normalization. * Knowledge of publish-subscribe mechanisms for data services. * Experience in developing strategies for data acquisitions, developing data structures and associated data policies * Experience in developing governance processes for managing services (version control), support services, monitoring and evaluation of services. * Experience in WSDL, X-Query, XSLT transformations and XML coding for data transformation, retrieval and delivery * Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the logical and physical database design (for both transactional and data warehouse) and data normalization concepts *Technologies:* *Programming Languages*: ANSI-SQL, JAVA *Database:* Oracle 10g/11g, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and above *Operating Systems:* Unix, Linux *Design Language*: UML, Visio, Erwin 9.x and above, *Tools:* CISCO Information Server (CIS) v6.x and above, Informatica 9.0.x, Business Objects, Tableau *Responsibilities:* * Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes and data and apply the knowledge towards the design and development of DV applications. * Design, develop and maintain services as part of enterprise service inventory, with focus on Service Normalization patterns. Ensure implementation of approaches to reduce redundancy in service logic and governance burden. * Work with Enterprise Architecture group and SOA governance board to follow standards and coordinate on enterprise service catalog. * Conduct/attend requirements gathering meetings of business requests for data usage along with conducting impact assessments and maintaining documentation of all components of data architecture * Perform analysis of system data to identify patterns, exceptions and erroneous data * Contribute to the design, development and documentation of DV institutional assets and artifacts following World Bank Group standards * Ensure that data validation processes, data quality control standards, testing strategy and test plans for data services are applied to DV applications * Work with the DV Project Lead to refine and tighten the security framework and access control for internal and external information sharing, including secured/confidential information sharing * Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion * Work with the DV Project Lead to develop governance processes for managing services (version control), support services, service migration, monitoring and evaluation of services. * Manage a multi-tenancy model to enable distributed management for development of DV data services projects * Document definitions for all new data constructs and document the enhancements in a standard document. * Contribute to the support and maintenance of an already existing body of data virtualization applications currently in production within the BI DV landscape *Desired:* * Experience in CIS application administration tasks * Experience in the integration of published CIS objects with Front end application like Java, Business Objects, Tableau, Crystal reports and MS-access * Experience in various development methodology like Agile/Scrum development methodology * Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Strong diplomatic, interpersonal and teamwork skills. * Maturity to participate in multiple complex programs at the same time in an agile environment.
