We're working with 39 projects, compiling to just over 2MB. No problems so far - in fact I think we rather like it. Perhaps our time will come ;)
James, are you sure you haven't got some code that is compiling differently depending on the configuration? Try searching for "debug" and "release" and see if it finds anything.
