The ? Indicates, as far as I know, that the security token isn't
recognized. I've only seen this when an account has been deleted or a
disk has been moved to a computer in another domain. Any chance this
could have been related to another account related to your site?

Subject: [DOTNET] IIS / ASP.NET security settings

I am trying to tighten up security on my website, and I've noticed a few
problems. If I don't give the Everyone group read/read & execute/list
folder
contents on the web root, the aspx pages won't work. Even if I give the
INET_USR the same permissions, the pages won't work. When I take a look
at
other security settings, I see this user with an odd name like
"8-23-123232
etc" and a question mark where the user (or group) symbol usually is. I
assume that this is a utility account that handles directory monitoring
and
compiling aspx pages, but why can't I see this account in the computer
management or security tab? I really don't like giving "Everyone" any
access
to the website.

Thanks,
Erick
