Level 33, AMP Centre, 50 Bridge St, Sydney. The topic of this months meeting is 'Building a .NET 'Smart Client' Application Framework' by Adam Magee. This session will examine the general issues involved in building a real-life enterprise application framework built in .NET. Topics covered (and demonstrated) include: - Dynamic assembly download - Web service integration - Using isolated storage - Encrypting data - Web Server applications and HTTPModule - Offline support - Distributing resources - Strategies for exception handling Adam Magee has spent over 10 years developing Microsoft solutions for large organisations in Australia and the United Kingdom. He was co-author of 'Advanced Visual Basic 6.0' for Microsoft Press. Adam currently works for Avanade (the joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture) where he focuses on .NET architectures for Government and takes great pride in his 16 bit MCSD. In addition to Adam's talk, there will be giveaways, pizza and general .NET comradery.
