This is what happens to me as well. Very occasionally, VS will get into
a state where it won't minimize unless I hit the "show desktop" button,
and then it won't come back unless I use "Switch To" in task manager.
Other than that it continues to function, so sometimes I probably don't
even notice. When it's in this state, the X in the upper-right won't
close the program, but File...Exit will. Closing it and opening it back
up always fixes the problem.
