Actually, I have a legacy file-based ODBC driver. I dont have its source
code, and i want to expedite its performance. I am not sure if i change the
ODBC settings, file path like "myproto://c:\path2\fil1.fgd" would work. Can

I learned that memory mapped files are not what you want, however, a number of the list participants had some great suggestions for other ways to do this, the most promising (IMHO) was creating a pluggable protocol.
