Hi all, I have started to build a Windows application and in the process have noticed that the response time is very sluggish(compared to an old VB6 app). The app appears to draw on the screen in sections. You can see the different parts coming up (especially in the 500Mhz machine, see below).
I have tried this two ways on two different machines. One 500Mhz and one 1.8Ghz. Both are pretty close in results (by my eye). 1. I'm reading an xml file into a datagrid. 2. I'm retrieving records from a SQL Server DB into a datagrid. The response for the SQL DB example is a lot faster than the xml but the SQL is still not as responsive as a former VB6 app. I've tried this on two machines. I've read about a user acount needing to be there: ASPNET which it is. I mean, I only have a grid and a command button. I hate to see a full blown app. Is this a known issue?
