Can't find any references to this on MS.com...

Not sure about VI 6.0, but in previous releases, VI had to connect
directly to the DB server to create/finish projects properly.

So here's what we're looking at:

external customer-->firewall-->HTTP server-->ODBC-->firewall-->database

Sure the external customer can connect using FPSE to the HTTP server
easily, but when it comes time to configure/connect to his database,
there's *no way* that will be allowed.

IIRC, previous VI versions actually did create some binary files during db
configuration, hence the reason we just couldn't FTP stuff from their dev
enrionment into our prod environment.

Am I way off here? Anyone know if this type of issue is fixed in either
updates or VI 6.0? I'd really like to see an MS arcticle addressing this
for management to view...

PS Please email any replies to my address also: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks,
Marco
