They use totally different methods to store session state.  Actually,
with ASPX giving you more options (like database storage) it would be
difficult to retrofit ASP's session management to look elsewhere.

Ok, well it looks like I cannot add session variables in a c# .aspx page
and have them available to a regular .asp page. Why is that?
