On a related current thread I noticed some questions about barcode
use. (I'm rather new to barcode use) I run a small store and bring in
products all having barcodes of course. I'm thinking of putting
together a simple database that I could scan a package and its
manufacturer's barcode human readable number would display on my
application's screen. Then I'd like to associate this number with my
own company's unique ID number for that product. Ultimately what I'd
like to do is have a user display appear from my database of that
product's information stored in MY database. For example: a worker
receives a box of nails and scans the manufacturer's barcode which
displays a screen with MY company's product description, inventory
levels, pricing, etc. So in my database I would already have the
manufacturer's barcode number associated with MY product number. A
lookup query would handle that. Any ideas on a direction?
