Did you install all the VS 2005 options, or just some of them? Did you uninstall and then install it again, or did you just do a "repair" when you re-ran the installation.
Also, is this a project that someone else at your company has created? You may want to talk to them about what is in it to make sure you have the necessary components installed. Personally, just to make sure everything is correct, I'd completely uninstall VS 2005. Then I would run the installation again and make sure that all development types are selected so that everything is installed. Then install any Microsoft updates before trying to reload the proejct.
