I'm having a problem migrating my applicattion from XP to Vista.
When I run this code in XP it works perfectly OK and sends the mail.
When I run it on a Vista machine it gives me this message:
Syntax error in parameters or arguments. The server response was:
5.5.4 Invalid Address
The code
Try
Dim mail As New System.Net.Mail.MailMessage()
mail.From = New System.Net.Mail.MailAddress(my e-mail on
our mail-server)
mail.To.Add(my e-mail on our mail-server)
mail.Subject = "This is an email"
mail.Body = "this is the body content of the email."
Dim smtp As New System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient(ip-address of
the our mail-server)
smtp.Send(mail) '<--- here it gets an error
Catch ex As Exception
Dim xxx As String = ex.Message
End Try
The From and To addresses are the same because I want users to e-mail
me when something goes wrong in the application.
