sorry, I guess my 40 character blurb didn't include enough context.  I
was actually agreeing with you and laughing at the parent post.  I
don't think it is Possible! to read a book on programming and not be
introduced to printf, cout, system.out.print, console.print, etc
before the end of chapter 2.
