Haha yea I stuffed all mine in the walls. They won't take me alive! Seriously though, think of a session as just what is says: You log in, thats a session.
A cache is like saving an instance of a page, and getting that page from the cache instead of rendering it brand new each time. 5 minute cache = 5 minutes of the same page.
