There are tons of free ones out there - I've used SVN and CVS - both
open source.  They're really easy to use, but I've never actually set
up or maintained the actual repositories for either one, so I can't
speak for that part of it.  But since both are very popular, I'm sure
you can find good step-by-step instructions on getting started.
