Good question. In programmers mening ADO.NET is just technology for interecting with database. Each laguage has its own way to do it. ADO.NET Made it just simple then another version. The great feature of ADO.NET is u can work on ur data Offline. without interacting with actual database. Just Retrive It Online , Work Offline and save it Online. Most time taken in actual senario is middle stage. i.e. working with data. this time is headach on database in many laguages.
