[DotNetDevelopment] Removing UpDown control from TabControl

Does anyone know a good way to remove the msctls_updown32 control from
a TabControl?  I have done it using DestroyWindow(hWnd) but it leaves
an ugly grey box where the control used to be drawn.  I just can't
figure this out.
