I think the Repeater would be a good choice for complete
customizability, but it doesn't support RepeatDirection. You may be
better off with the ListView control (.NET 3.5).

Scott Guthrie's popular article <http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/
archive/2007/08/10/the-asp-listview-control-part-1-building-a-product-
listing-page-with-clean-css-ui.aspx> demonstrates its use in a
scenario similar to yours. I think you can modify the code to use DIVs
instead of list items.
