u can bind control in .vb fileand execute dopostback e.g:-
txtAmtEdtble.Attributes.Add("onblur", 
"__doPostBack('calTotalAmt','BSDAMOUNT');")

 
 
and in javascript u can use
__doPostBack('cmbEmpProj2','');
