I am really new to Crystal Reports (currently using version 8.5) and I
would like to create a new report based on another. Basically I am
trying change the SQL query of the original report and since I can
only view the query, I am assuming that I will have to create a whole
new version of the report based on a slightly different query. I am
able to create the new report from the modified query that I created
and saved in Crystal SQL Designer but it is not behaving the way I
think it should and I think it might have to do with the fact that the
report is created from the query and not from the database and its
tables. Ultimately, I would like to create the report from scratch by
adding tables from the database but it looks like there are indexes
incorporated into the report when I look into the "Visual Linking
Expert". When I did a little bit deeper into the VLE there is an
option to "Add Index" but that button is greyed out. Could someone
explain to me why this is and how I can add an index to this report?

Thanks
