The Devil is in the details. Yup, you're entirely correct. You plug the configured Bluetooth to Serial adaptor into the device you want to control, you turn on your Bluetooth transmitter, and you send data!
The details? - You generally have to configure the serial device on a computer first. - Your controller has to have the Serial Port Profile (SPP) as something it can deal with. The community in general seems more concerned with the configuration than the SPP. Most of the sites I browsed in the past 10 minutes just sorta assumed your device would be able to connect; but that might have been due to the specific software packages they were using on their Mobiles.
