Hi all

I did not find a suitable forum for this question. I am sorry if it is
a bit off topic, but I hope someone can help me out anyway.

I have this VS2008 solution consisting of 2 c# application projects
(lets call them A and B) and a deployment setup/project.
After installation of the msi Aplication A is launched automatically
and application B may be launched from the start menu.
Here comes the problem: In the deployment project there are assemblies
of both A and B in the "Application Folder". I have then created a
shortcut to application B in a subfolder of the "User's Programs Menu"
folder.

When I click this shortcut after installation, then Application A is
brutally killed.
If I however launch application B from %ProgramFiles%, then
Application A is not killed.

I also tried putting the exe file for Application B directly in
"User's Programs Menu" (which gave me a warning when building the
msi). With this approach, I can successfully after installation of the
msi click the Application B in the start menu.

My question is: why can't I use a shortcut (which is the recommended
way) in the start menu?
