I find it strange that no one actually answered the question. The OP's
problem would have been solved if someone could elaborate on a way to
prevent the Visual Studio Dataset designer from generating a new
dataset everytime the OP refreshes the datasource. I would've made a
suggestion but it's been a long while since I've worked with (designer
generated) datasets.
