No, that shouldn't be necessary. However, I note that you're using a
Gmail account. I suggest you read up a little more on Gmail and what it
does when you initiate a thread.
Your first message of a thread is in the equivalent of a 'Sent' folder.
When the list broadcasts your message to the rest of the list
subscribers, Gmail sees that it is your message and discards it because
you already have the original copy. Hence, you don't 'see' your message.
I think Yahoo! and HotMail also work this way. Solution, subscribe to a
proper ISP and use a 'real' email account.
