I have some doubts you'll find anyone with specific experience. I'm sure
there's a few who have set up SMS services, but those are generally two-way.

This is a lot more simple. :) I'd probably put an aggregator in, to only
send out SMS messages after X minutes have passed with no messages, myself,
but it all depends on how much you expect to receive.

So you're going to leave a computer behind, running the XP home fileserver
and this SMS forwarder, maintain the Irish cell line for the year, just for
the sole purpose of forwarding SMS. Wow. :)

I'd probably set up an SMS autoreply to have them use my 'new' cell number,
if they really wanted to send me a message. :) Or whatever email equivalent
existed for the new one. :)

But to each their own addiction. :)
