On the server, run 'dxdiag' and it will report your windows and bit
version.

Remember you can always upgrade an installation but you can never
downgrade.  By this a 32-bit software will install on 64-bit but not
vice versa.  This is due to Windows 64-bit has two directories for
applications, 'Program Files (x86)' and 'Program Files'.
