What are you doing or trying to do?  Read a packet from a control on
COMM1 or something else?

Go ahead and put out the code you have now and we will try to help.
Keep asking us to figure out your problem with no proof that you are
doing any of the work and I/we will just delete your messages.  Show
your work for help is very important here.

1. Tell us what you are trying to do.
2. Show us what you have done so far.  Point out with comments where
you think the problem is, or the error occurs.
