Exception Management Application Block would exactly suit for your requirement.

Just install from Microsoft site and include in your allocation, it would automatically log all the errors into your event log / write to xml / write to txt file.

Download link :

http://download.microsoft.com/download/visualstudionet/emabref/rtm/nt5/en-us/ExceptionManagementApplicationBlock.msi

need more info …revert back

Cheers

raja

hi all !

Like the way we have "Log4j" (for Java)  or "log4C++" (for C++) or "log4perl" (for perl) , do we have any thing for .NET ???

I have a requirement where i need to do some logging to a local text file (something.log) and I should be able set different levels (ex: Error, Info, Debug) etc. .. and be able to write any log messages in my code so that all the logs go into one file.

The System.Diagnostics namespace will allow me to write into WindowsEventLogs only .. But I don't want that .. Please help me in this issue. I am totally lost .. .

Thank you

Anand.
