Hi In the method one, i think you gonna use a static singleton connection object which will be used across the application. This is a very bad concept when you have lot of data operations. Particularly in transactional situations, the app will get performance bottlenecks. In the second method, you'll be using a common practice of opening a connection just before usage and closing it. Note that when you close any connection, the connection will not be destryed but it will be returned back to connection pool. For any .NET managed data provider the connection pooling will be done automatically and by default. HTH Sudhakar Sadasivuni |
