Anjali,
Shared methods do not have access to the state
information of a particular instance.
They have access to the shared (class) variables,
which are maiintained at the class level.
Hence they are used for housekeeping functions like
instance counting etc.
Hope this helps,
Sreejath

Please bear with me
Shared methods can be called
without creating an object of the class, then why cant be all
methods shared in a class? is it interanally doest create a
object of the class
shared methods and shared
variable?
so about Friend and protected
Friend
Friend= Project level
member
Protecteted Friend= project level
member MINUS not available to inherited class?
Anjali
