We all know that Microsoft is awarding software professionals with MVP.
Thats really a great designation for the individual and a good recognition from
Microsoft for their involvement and participation to developer community.
I am wondering, is there any such award for Students? Because I am seeing
the involvement of many college students in .NET community with a passion and
enthusiasm. There should be a similar award with a title something
like Microsoft Student Champion (MSC) or Microsoft
Valuable Student (MVS) for the individual student who are performing
well and excellent in the developer community.
I know that Microsoft conducts Imagine CUP for students and gives award for
the winning team/winners, But it would be nice if they initiate an award similar
to MVP Program for the students participating in the online community. This
would enable the students to get explore the latest technology in detail during
their academic career and help them to achieve excellent goals when they come
out of their studies.
Many user groups has a separate Student Chapter that focus on establishing
the awareness of MS Technologies to college students and gives an opportunity
for the students to get interacted with the working professionals. These kind of
award program will benefit them even more and we can make students technology
aware during their academic period.
This is just a thought, If anyone supports this please provide valuable
comments.
