where does required field validator executes client side or server side

Hi Balu, Validation controls as you know are server side controls. When the page is compiled, browser specific client side code will be generated, which will be embedded into your aspx page. If you right click and view source for the page, you can see the client script embedded in the Span tags and calling some other methods. Only the method call exists in your page. These methods can be found in WebUIValidation.js file inside your WWWRoot folder. So finally even these validation controls emit browser specific _javascript_, hence no postback is required.
