Confused In choosing a Platform

Hello friends
My name is Sumod.My nick name in the groups is sumu_maddy.I am doing my
final semester of GNIIT course in NIIT.I am pretty good in .Net though I am
a beginner learning both J2ee and .Net.My friends ,faculty suggest me to
master java,j2ee platform rather than .Net 'cause it is opensource.All the
O.S supports it.It is growing day by day.They also claim that C# in .Net is
nothing but a carboncopy of Java.
Since Linux is very powerfull compare to Windows I am unable to Choose a
platform where I can work in future without hindrance rather than going for
a carrer shift from .net to java or vice-versa.
Guys Please Help Me.I am really aggrvated with what people say around me.I
am unable take a decision for my future so I want U people's
advice,suggesion since I am a begginer in to the software Industry.
With the Introduction of WinFX and Vista will .Net have some change or
J2ee,Java will still rule the Mobile Market.
