Hi: Check out if you have not enabled TCP/IP
protocol ??
Steps to do so:
SQL Server 2005 - > Configuration Tools
-> SQL Server Configuration Manager -> SQL Server 2005
Network Configuration -> Protocols for SQL Server : Enable
TCP/IP
-- You should check the 'SQL Server Surface area
configuration' settings for your SQL Server 2005.
From SQL books online:
TCP/IP
<CONTENT
xmlns="http://ddue.schemas.microsoft.com/authoring/2003/5">
TCP/IP is a common protocol widely used over the
Internet. It communicates across interconnected networks of computers with
diverse hardware architectures and various operating systems. It includes
standards for routing network traffic and offers advanced security features. It
is the most popular protocol used in business today. Configuring your computer
to use TCP/IP can be complex, but most networked computers are already properly
configured. To configure the TCP/IP settings that are not exposed in SQL Server
Configuration Manager, see your Microsoft Windows
documentation.
Best Regards, Deepak
Kumar.

Hi
All,
I have
developed an application and it is currently hosted on my local
system, I am connecting to DB which is also available on my
local system. Application is working fine when both DB and code
is hosted on the same system. But when I try to put the code in
a different system, connect to the same DB and run the
application, it throws SQL server exception which is "SQL Server
does not exist or access denied. "
Connection
string I am using to connect is as below:
<add key
="ConnectionString" value="server=10.12.57.187;uid=sa;password
=pwd;database=abcd"/>
Can someone
help me resolve this problem.
Thanks for
all the help.
