Hello there !

This week we have good news for our website: we reached 50,000 visitors and 10
TB of downloads. However the project activity is quite low compared to previous
weeks because we are supposed to be doing a communication campaign during the
whole month. Please feel free to use this mailing list to report about your
communication activities.

NB: JM was less available until the 14th, this is why this newsletter is
co-written with Elisa.

Cheers,
Elisa and JM.

Team
=====

* We welcomed two new Chinese contributor: avauntage and benfix.

* We also welcomed our first Greek contributor who has already started to
translate the CD: Panos (alias pyanna7).

Welcome to our project!

Special note for Benheng: please ask all the Chinese contributors to register
the mailing list in order to get information about the project and to be able
to post their eventual questions to the community.

Organization
===========

* DoudouLinux has now joined the OIN in order to benefit from its protection
against potential patent lawsuits. We'll give you more information in a
dedicated email soon.

* As our team of contributors is now quite large, we incite all of you to use
this mailing list to discuss any topic or ask any question. Please use personal
emails if and only if you have a personal topic to discuss. As a result in a
near future JM won't answer personal emails that are not strictly personal
anymore.

Translations
===========

* Chinese, Polish and Swedish CD's are now closed to 100% translated
(congratulations for this huge and quick work).

* As indicated above, many translations were sent on Transifex for Greek.

* We also saw additional translations for Spanish on Transifex.

An intermediary update 2011-03 will be released by the end of the month for all
the languages that will show significant improvements since 2011-02. At least
Chinese, Greek, Polish, Spanish and Swedish are concerned.

Website
=======

* We are very happy to see that some pages of the website were translated into
German. They will be publish soon. Please Sergey tell us more about the
translation process for German by answering this newsletter.

* A news is on the way to announce that translation into Greek has started.
We'll also have to write a news to announce that DDL joined the OIN.

* With Elisa we decided that we have to redesign our download page and links to
make it simpler for our visitors. We'll discuss this topic on this list.

Communication
=============

Please remember that we are supposed to advertise about our project this month
:). Try to find some good websites in your language and reread the thread
“Communication campaign” to know how this campaign is supposed to run (see
https://mail.gna.org/public/doudoulinux-dev/2011-02/msg00031.html). We need
volunteers to post messages on Debian lists of languages for which we still
have no contributor.

* Dutch: we now have some ideas of websites to be targeted, with Denis we have
to open a thread on this list to let you know what we're planning to do.

* Russian: many new entries have been seen during the past week on the Russian
web, please Sergey tell us more about what's happening in Russia!

* Portuguese: Sergey is in touch with a native Brazilian, you'll get
information on the flow on this list.

* In France at Espace Beaugeois (a small multimedia center), it seems that DDL
will be used to show educational games to children and parents during a
dedicated morning (see
http://espacebaugeois.org/dotclear/index.php?post/2011/03/02/Matinée-à-jeux-multimédia).

Support
=======

* We received a request for assistance for a user of a tablet PC. He'd like to
have the stylus work, we need more information on his hardware to be able to
help him.
