Hello!

I'm a bit late this week, due to the heavy workload of course ;). The main news
of this week are that our web site is now using static Html pages for the
official side and that the logo/mascot contest is running well :). Please feel
free to express yourself on OCAL if you have artistic skills!

Cheers,
JM.

PS: if you think that I forgot to mention an important news, feel free to
answer this mail with your scoop!

Team
=====

* No news.

Organization
===========

* The statutes of our future association “The DDL foundation” are being
written. I'll send a mail to poll who would be interested in having a role in
this association.

* Nava and Elisa have opened an account on Facebook for our project.

* I'm currently testing Redmine (http://www.redmine.org/) as an online project
management software. It looks very promising and would replace all the tickets
on Gna (and do more of course!). Again I'll send a mail when I'm ready to share
my feelings :).

Translations
===========

* New translations have been submitted for Persian (Nava) and Polish (Filar).

* Many articles are proposed for publication in German (Tomsk university &
Sergey).

CDROM
=======

* I started to better organize the migration toward Debian Squeeze with Gérald.

Graphics
========

* There are already many candidates for the logo contest on OCAL (OpenClipArt
Library), see http://openclipart.org/ddl_contest.

Website
=======

* Our website has switched to its static version which is faster (see message
https://mail.gna.org/public/doudoulinux-dev/2011-04/msg00107.html). Spip has
moved to http://www.doudoulinux.org/spip/ while
http://www.doudoulinux.org/test/ is still used to test the latest Spip snapshot
before going online. Update your bookmarks!

* We are about to put a special modified banner to announce the logo/mascot
contest on our website too.

* Pages “Contact us” and “Team and contributors” have been slightly modified.

Communication
=============

* Richard at the Maracaibo FLISOL event on 9-April:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/suI_1dw78_gU1u-HsclojA. More photos from
this event on https://picasaweb.google.com/velugmcbo/FLISOL2011.

* DDL is now listed on the page of Debian Live derived distros (see
http://live.debian.net/project/downstream/). Our project had a kind welcome on
the Debian Live list (see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-live/2011/04/msg00018.html). Karl Goetz proposed
us to join DebianDerivatives Front desk
(http://wiki.debian.org/DerivativesFrontDesk), which we'll do when… we find the
time!

Support
=======

* Received a long Russian mail telling that DDL is great but the author had a
lot of difficulties to make it run. Apart from hardware detection issues, it
took him a long time to figure out that DDL is not dependent of Windows at all.
Maybe we are not enough clear about what is a Live system, especially in the
download page. Fixes are welcome!
