Hello, I'm not sure it is worth the effort. I plan to move to Debian Squeeze for the release after the next one (so for August) and it can be too much work for a publication by the end of this month. Moreover I still have a buggy file to report to him, which would also mean patch required for this month. However you can start by asking its author his opinion.
I think we have to discuss with him about his development process. I fear he's always using the latest Ubuntu release, which means is work will be rapidly incompatible with our system. As we cannot change of libraries every 6 months, we need an application that is using stable versions of libraries for 2 years at least.
