Hello there, I'm glad to inform that our very first build of DoudouLinux based on Debian Squeeze (instead of Lenny) is now available on our dailybuild section:
http://download.doudoulinux.org/dailybuild/ It is named “doudoulinux-isohybrid-2011-mm-dd-ll.iso”. Only the English version has been built because other languages need to first merge translations from Gondwana. This build is a so called “iso-hybrid” image, which means that it can be burnt as a standard CDROM or DVDROM image, as well as copied onto an USB disk like a standard IMG file (you may need to rename it *.img depending on the transfer software you're using). This is a new feature of Squeeze. Note however that this first build is still far from the final objective: * the ISO file size is 838 MB for a CD of 700 MB * start/shutdown images are not displayed anymore (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/88) * autologin is active so that “Whole DoudouLinux” is automatically entered after few seconds * icons are not correctly arranged on advanced session desktops * Childsplay is requesting a username at start (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/274) * Songwrite is not available despite its icon on the desktop (see http://team.doudoulinux.org/issues/280) * Vkeybd has been replaced by Vkmp for testing purposes, but it's not configured yet * etc. Please feel free to report any additional issue online, in our project named “Migration to Squeeze”: http://team.doudoulinux.org/projects/squeeze-migration/issues/new We will probably not solve every issue for the release of August, particularly the image size. I believe that this is not really a problem since we now have an official, stable release :). Have a good DoudouLinux/Squeeze! Cheers, JM. _______________________________________________ Doudoulinux-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/doudoulinux-dev
