Hello,

Sad story.

I tried to add DoudouLinux article in Russian and they deleted it.

Good news is a friend of mine is local Wikipedia admin and I asked him how
can we escape deletion.

I will share his thoughts immediately.

Btw is English translation of article is close to completion?

Grazie,

Sergey

Subject: [Doudoulinux-dev] I need help to try to keep DoudouLinux in
Wikipedia.

Hello there.

It's the moment we had fear: wikipedia proofreaders are in doubt about the
enciclopedicity of DoudouLinux. It's not a problem to be too promotional or
not the article, for this is possible to improve another bit the article,
but is not this the issue. The issue it's the enciclopedicity relevance of
DoudouLinux.

Just moment is not in process of deletion, but I am speaking with other
wikipedians (I am a wikipedian too, but I'm few experiecend, it's few time
that I collaborate) and DoudouLinux have good probability to be proposed for
deletion). I'm trying to give some links that show DoudouLinux is already
known, that sites and media's spoken of it, but until now it seems this
references are not sufficiently strong.

I understand the objection wikipedians give me about DoudouLinux, and if is
not possible at the moment DoudouLinux stay in DoudouLinux, ok, we only go
to have a reference to the list of Linux distribution; and when DoudouLinux
become sufficiently known to stay in Wikipedia it's possible the voice
appear again.

However, I have some doubts that DoudouLinux may already be considered a
right voice for Wikipedia, and before wikipedians take the final decision I
want to give more references and arguments than possible to give more
elements than possible for a fact-based decision.

I would ask your help (also becuase I don't know well all about DoudouLinux
communication) to find more than possible references for DoudouLinux. At the
moment probably Xavier is the one that can give more elements.

The more important references are:

- articles in printed version and/or services on TVs or radios, and much
more if the authors are of national relevance (isn't important what country,
it's important that is of national relevance in one country at least);

- articles in websites of national relevance for the DoudouLinux field, or
demonstrations that professionals of the field speak about it and/or
consider it innovative and important/relevant for the field;

- evidences that some institutions, above all of national relevance, are
using or plan to use DoudouLinux in educational programs;

- evidences that at least in one country DoudouLinux it's spreadily know and
used.

Xavier:

- I've not received a link that I was able to see about Le Soir Mag article.
Can you send me it? Is it a newspaper or is not an everyday magazine? What
type of relevance it have? I've red it have a circulation of 80.000, but the
relevance it's local or national? Have you some link that can help me to
show the level of relevance of the newspaper/magazine?

- About the RTBF, what they spoken or red about DoudouLinux? What links do
you have about? What type of relevance this radioTV have? Have you some link
to show me the level of relevance of this radioTV?

- About the opensource meeting that are you following, can you give me
documents (papers, links) to demonstrate the partecipation of DoudouLinux in
that meetings? Have you some reviews that third person have made about?

- Regarding the project to use DoudouLinux in schools, what's the level of
application? Single school? Village? Town? What documents do you have about?

Sorry for all this question, but it is to try to obtain more references than
possible for DoudouLinux.

Russian DoudouLinux contributers:

About the situation of DoudouLinux in Russia, and above all at Tomsk, what's
the situation?

The Pedagogical University it's officially a developer? Have documents thta
prove it and/or pedagogical articles about the use of DoudouLinux?

The Tomsk TV that made the video report, what level of relevance have? It's
a national broadcast or local? Have documents that show the level of
relevance of this TV?

My request of help is also for all other countries that can give me elements
(articles, videos, sites of national and or professional relevance,
institutions, that have spoken about DoudouLinux).

About things that I already know and that I have already spoken to the
wikipedia article:

- about OIN, have documents that prove DoudouLinux was invited and it is
part of the OIN?

- have better link that the ones I gave to show the interest of Debian for
DoudouLinux? (I gave the page of DoudouLinux in the Debian site and some
e-mails of the derivative-list on Debian site).

- what are the very important website of every country that spoke of
DoudouLinux? Have a way to demonstrate the level of importance of that
websites?

Tank you to all of you for taking the time to help me to answer that
questions.

Have a nice day,

Salvatore.
