Hello, I've just uploaded new dailybuilds to prepare the next official development release, which will be numbered 2012-10. There are lots of improvements:
* Translations are now up to date with Transifex, although all the work to move from Gondwana to next stable release is not totally achieved on Transifex (but almost). There may still be translations that are *not* available on Transifex. * DuckDuckGo is now the default search engine. The language in which searches are performed is automatically set at CD boot or package installation. Beware that this also sets the country, which means searches in French may give results in France even if you're living in Belgium or Canada. The only way to deal with this issue is to trigger a script when network goes up to guess the user's country based on its computer IP address. * Apps are now launched full screen thanks to Maximus. This avoids small children get lost in a profusion of windows. We still need to tune Maximus in order to not maximize small dialog windows. * Fixed the printing rights issue by removing Policykit in favor of the old, solid Unix group rights. Tests are needed. * Several applications have been removed: OpenDict, Gvrng and Little Wizard. We may also remove Kgeography which is a bit redundant with Marble, even if this is not the same purpose. * Improved look and feel of unique-launcher, the application launch notification. + many other fixes! Here is the link to give dailybuilds a try: http://download.doudoulinux.org/dailybuild/realtime.php Their name is following the pattern '*-2012-10-13-*', only CD's are available. Please first check our ticket database for known issues before reporting any problem: http://team.doudoulinux.org/projects/doudoulinux-cd/issues/gantt Finally, about the development version, I'm a bit late as usual but still planning to publish it this month. This will make people talk about us! -- Cheers, JM.
