Hello! As indicated in a previous email, now that the development version 2013-02 is out, it is time to work on polishing the final stable release 2.0. The main remaining work is about localization and translation, while there may be (there are!) still bug fixes to achieve. The schedule I'm planning is the following for the main tasks:
1. Solve the remaining localization issues in the LiveCD (early March, work already in progress). 2. Complete LiveCD development/fixing (March) 3. Freeze our website (late March) 4. Rewrite our website (April) 5. Publish an RC in every language (late April) 6. Test the RC (early May) 7. Complete our website rewrite (early May) 8. Publish the official 2.0 (May) During this period, translations from Transifex will be regularly fetched in order to feed dailybuilds and let people see the translation work status of every language. Note that I need about 4 days to upload all the CD's, don't expect dailybuilds every week! I recall that I cannot test anymore alone all the languages (40!) and change applications settings when applications are not spontaneously using the CD language. Help really appreciated (send me the modified configuration files if needed!). If you want to help the development of 2.0, please browse Redmine: http://team.doudoulinux.org/projects/doudoulinux-cd/roadmap#Hyperborea% 202.0%20(2013-05) Concerning the LiveCD graphics, well, I still hope our drawers will find time to redraw illustrations to make the 2.0 environment look different from the 1.x one. The new draws have to be ready for late April. Finally I take this opportunity to announce that Xavier and Frédéric have started to work on the redesign of our website to make it clearer and easier to browse. News about this topic will be sent to the list soon with a first draft to show. We hope the redesign to be ready for May :). -- Cheers, JM.
