Hello! I've just published on Spip two new articles, an English one and its French translation, that are a bit special indeed. Their purpose is to provide a way to easily define the websites that will be shown in the future homepage and the bookmarks of Epiphany, the DDL web browser. A draft of such homepage is available on our website:
http://libs.doudoulinux.org/homepage.html And a French version is available as well: http://libs.doudoulinux.org/homepage.fr.html As you can see, there are links directly put in the center of the page and there is a menu on top of the page containing links too. These links and their texts are automatically collected from the Spip page by scripts I've written. Everything is explained – I hope – in the Spip articles, in English: http://www.doudoulinux.org/spip/ecrire/?exec=articles&id_article=440 Or in French if you prefer read French: http://www.doudoulinux.org/spip/ecrire/?exec=articles&id_article=441 Please carefully read the instructions about link selection before adding or changing a website for your language. The goal is to lead children to discover the free software spirit through websites that work the way our software community is working. We also want them to be able to “remix” the web and get further inspiration from it, not just watch and obey to ads. We don't want either them to be addict of Apple, Google, Facebook or Microsoft (although the later is falling down :p ). NB: Concerning the texts that are displayed in the homepage but not in the links that you will have defined in Spip (for example in the weather box), these texts will be available later for translation on Transifex. I've coded an automated translation process of the page but I'm waiting a final version of our homepage to create the Transifex resource in order to avoid making our translators work on messages that may then be removed or changed. Of course if you insist to have a draft homepage in your language, I can send you the PO file to translate! -- Cheers, JM.
