Hello, I'm very glad to announce that I signed the first agreement for a partnership between our young non-profit Association DoudouLinux and a third-party, namely Ecodair. If you've ever read the pages we've written on our website for the coming version 2.1, you know that Ecodair, a French organization selling refurbished computers, is preparing a DoudouLinux computer range. You can already see the future product page online (in French of course):
http://www.ordinateur-occasion.com/pc-portable-d-occasion/gamme-linux/prochainement-doudoulinux-608-L1.html Two days ago, on Friday, thanks to my trip to Toulouse (FR) for the event Capitole du libre, I visited them in Paris and we signed an agreement that states Ecodair will pay a small amount to our association for each DoudouLinux computer sold. We also agreed on communication and, particularly, we have to make the Ecodair offer visible on our website. Sells will start within several days for the Christmas period. This agreement shows that our project can attract third party organizations, if some people were still doubting. Indeed selling DDL computers has been a hot topic for a while because there is a need: first, parents use the LiveCD or the USB key but then, unavoidably, the time comes when parents and children conflict to access the computer. If there is no old, sleeping computer that can be turned into a DDL computer, parents will look for buying a dedicated computer, cheap if possible! -- Cheers, JM.
