I suppose you mean so that Dovecot could use the same SQL schema as dbmail? Or you mean just SQL mail backend support in general? SQL mail backend is kind of started and it almost works (http://dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-November/026632.html), but there are really no plans for me to finish it anytime soon. Nothing prevents someone else from doing it though.
